{SPOLIER ALERT!}
This review contains spoilers so if you have not read this book I waould advise against reading any further.
Ok so this book did not go at all how I thought it would. First off Wendy and Finn broke things off. (Big shock to me!) In my mind before I read this last book I thought they would find a way to stay together. Nope, Loki had to come along and take her. I am not complaining because they actually make a really good couple but I guess I still kind of wished that Wendy and Finn were still together.
I liked that Finn, Tove, Wendy, Matt, and the others got to have a happy ending as well. I was surprised that Tove and Wendy got a divorce. It wasn't devastating because they didn't actually love each other but they made one heck of a team. Tove and Wendy said they made one heck of a team to. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. After all he was gay and Wendy loved someone else. That some one being Finn then it became Loki.
The second major event that surprised me a great deal was when Wendy and Loki went to the Vittra palace to talk to Oren. I was thinking that Oren would never let her leave. Even though he wants her kingdom. It was a pretty big shock to me. Then the part where Oren told Wendy that Loki's feelings for her was total crap. (I thought what they had was real. Such a twist) Even more surprising was the fact that this could have ended but she wouldn't give Oren, Loki even though every thing they had ever done was supposedly just to trick her. As we all know it was good that she didn't give Oren, Loki seeing how she becomes Queen and he become King.
I know that when Tove hit her he wasn't in the right state of mind because he had exhausted he brain. I still thought maybe Oren somehow got inside Tove's head and turned him against Wendy. It was sad because he actually hit her and that goes without saying totally uncool. He apologized for it and that was the good thing.
I know that her and Loki hooked up after that incident and that was a little weird for me. I knew at that point they would end up together. I was even more 100% they would end up together when Tove told Wendy that their arouras say they love each other. That's when he told Wendy he wanted to get a divorce.
Ellora passing away was sad because she never got to spend a ton of time with her daughter. I don't even think they spent a whole year together before she passed. I thought that Loki was going to be joining her along with Oren but nope, Loki managed to survive. Oren, not so much.
When Oren killed Loki I honestly thought he was going to die and so would Wendy. Thanks to her "Emotional Ability" (I call it that because she only has the ability when she is emotional) She was able to kill Oren. Her ability was what actually worked on him. I thought that is was like a sacrifice. Loki, for Oren. When they saved Loki I found u was relived.
I have to be honest, I like the fact the book didn't go the way I thought it would. It goes to show that Amanda Hocking really can write good books. What good is a book if you know what's going to happen? I absolutely love her books! They are always so well written. I hate the fact that the books end at the worst spot but at the same time it's the beast way to get us to keep reading the books.

All in all I thought I was a really sweet book. It had a marvelous ending. I absolutely adore the fact Amanda Hocking put an epilogue at the end. It gave so much insight. Before when I finished the epilogue I was thinking that it couldn't end there but there was that short story bonus that really wrapped the book up. So many twists and turns. As soon as I started thinking one thing something would happen proving me wrong. I absolutely loved this book and I will definitely read it again. No doubt in my mind I won't.
Thanks for this journey! I loved it!
